Decarbonization of industry and commerce from the perspective of the state government

The state government is working at the EU and federal levels to ensure that the framework conditions for the green transformation of the economy are favorable for companies in Schleswig-Holstein. The conclusion of the so-called implementation agreement in mid-2024 has also shown that the largest industrial companies and the state government are jointly pursuing the path toward climate neutrality. The companies have pledged to save approximately 1.5 million tons of CO2 by 2030; the state government will work to ensure that energy infrastructures are expanded and the supply of green hydrogen is secured. The “Transfer Hub for Climate-Neutral Business,” launched by the state, supports small and medium-sized enterprises in particular in their decarbonization challenges.
