Overall strategy for energy and grid expansion in the district of Görlitz

The district of Görlitz is in the midst of transforming itself from a coal-based economy to a sustainable energy region. At the same time, however, the challenges of the energy transition are particularly acute in a rural, structurally weak district. Renewable energy projects in the GW range could be implemented immediately, but are failing due to a lack of infrastructure. The district has now set out to make its contribution to the energy transition with innovative grid concepts.
