The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cottbus is a public corporation to which, on the basis if statutory provisions, all traders – with the exception of craft business – in the CCI district belongs. Around 37,000 entrepreneurs from industry, trade and services are currently members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Cottbus.
The district of the CCI Cottbus extends from the southern border of Berlin (Dahme-Spreewald district) over the Spreewald along the state border with Saxony-Anhalt (Elbe-Elster district) and the federal border with Poland (Spree-Neisse district), including the regional center Cottbus up to the state border with Saxony (Oberspreewald-Lausitz district). The Chamber of Industry and Commerce Cottbus is one of three CCI in the state of Brandenburg. With 7,000 square kilometers, the area covers around a quarter of the area of the state with around 687,600 inhabitants, or 27 percent of Brandenburg population.
