Offshore wind is gaining momentum – and so is its role at HUSUM WIND

The North Sea is set to become one of the key powerhouses of Europe’s energy transition: 300 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2050, with plans for up to 15 GW of new capacity per year between 2031 and 2040.

Delivering on this ambition will require a strong European offshore wind industry: 91,000 additional jobs and around €9.5 billion of investment in supply chain capacities by 2030 underline the scale of the opportunity – and the challenge ahead.

For HUSUM WIND 2027, taking place from 14–17 September, we are therefore deliberately strengthening offshore wind as part of our exhibition and conference profile.

Our presence at WindEnergy Hamburg provided an excellent opportunity to take this forward. Together with offshore wind expert Heike Winkler of Offshore Wind Kommunikation, Pascal Hofer, Project Director HUSUM WIND , engaged in numerous discussions with industry stakeholders and expanded our offshore network.

At the same time, Heike Winkler and Ulrich Willeke, Head of Marketing and Public Relations Messe Husum & Congress have developed a dedicated PR and communications strategy for offshore wind at HUSUM WINDHUSUM WIND, aimed at increasing the sector’s visibility and bringing even more of its key players to Husum.

Because the future of wind energy is being shaped both onshore and offshore – and HUSUM WIND intends to be where these worlds come together.
