Story HUSUM WIND 2025

From training to world-first on-site blade root remanufacturing πŸš€

This spring, technicians trained with CNC Onsite (Stand 3C31) in Denmark and We4Ce in the Netherlands to master precision drilling of blade root inserts and infusion-based replacement of bushings. The result: over 16 blades successfully repaired on site so far β€” a world-first!

CNC Onsite A/S
Vejle, Denmark

This spring, wind turbine park technicians from Asia trained with CNC Onsite (Stand 3C31) and We4Ce to master precision drilling of blade root inserts . The end result: over 16 rotor blades so far successfully repaired on site β€” a world-first!Β πŸš€

The training covered:

πŸ› οΈ Precision drilling of blade root inserts with CNC Onsite’s mobile machine β€” designed to extract loose inserts with micron-level accuracy. Stable positioning ensures the structural integrity of the blade-hub connection.

🌐 Infusion technology at We4Ce β€” for replacing blade root bushings using a patented infusion method and "Re-FIT" component that restores strength without full blade disassembly.πŸ“

Understanding and maintaining tight tolerances throughout the process, is crucial for safe, long-term blade operation.

The workshops weren’t just about new skills β€” they also built confidence, problem-solving, and teamwork required to execute this first-of-its-kind project in the field in South Asia.

Since spring, the wind turbine park team has applied these techniques to repair more than 16 blades on site so far, marking the first successful project for both CNC Onsite and We4Ce, and likely the first globally to perform blade root remanufacturing entirely on site.

✨ Technical and operational advantages:

βœ”οΈ Factory-level precision in the field β€” each insert and bushing placed to exact specifications
βœ”οΈ Eliminates costly blade transport and logistics
βœ”οΈ Minimizes downtime β€” repairs of one blade completed in days instead of weeks and months
βœ”οΈ Sustainable approach β€” less waste, reduced environmental footprint
βœ”οΈ Demonstrates repeatable, reliable results for large-scale wind farm maintenance

The early training laid the foundation, hands-on practice built confidence, and teamwork ensured flawless execution. This project proves that innovation, precision, and collaboration can bring factory-quality blade repairs directly to the field.

Meet us at Stand 3C31 at Husum Wind to see how CNC Onsite and We4Ce are redefining on-site blade root repair. πŸ’‘πŸ’ͺ
