Location and grid utility of large-scale storage facilities in the transmission grid
Storage technologies are a key component for the stability and sustainability of the future energy system. In addition to their geographical location, their mode of operation is particularly crucial for their grid-friendly use. At the same time, increasingly volatile and short-term trading transacti
TenneT is therefore working intensively on the rapid and efficient integration of storage systems into the German electricity grid – based on sound studies, data-driven analyses and the further development of operational processes. The presentation provides insights into the latest findings from the study ‘Quo Vadis, Großbatteriespeicher?’ (Where are we headed, large battery storage systems?) and highlights key developments and areas for action for sustainable system management.
