Battery storage in Schleswig-Holstein: Necessary for the energy transition or harmful to the grid?
Volatile energy sources such as wind and PV are central to the energy transition, but cannot cover electricity demand at all times. Battery storage is therefore a fundamental component in providing the necessary controllable capacities.
Over the past two years, grid connection requests for battery storage systems have risen sharply, triggering a public debate about the correct location and grid-damaging operating modes of battery storage systems. The presentation will examine whether these accusations are justified and where action is needed.
