Where 14 old plants make way for the future to grow
How 14 old wind turbines are being turned into space for modern giants - sustainably, precisely and in the middle of the forest. Find out how we implement dismantling responsibly and create the future. Read now & be inspired!
One of our exciting repowering projects is currently underway in Mehring (Rhineland-Palatinate): For our clients Alterric and wiwi consult GmbH & Co. KG, we are carrying out the complete dismantling of 14 wind turbines to make room for 7 new, more powerful Enercon E-160 turbines.
🛠️ Project status:
The rotor blades, hub and nacelle of 9 turbines have already been dismantled. Dismantling of the concrete towers will begin in around two weeks. The project comprises a total of 10 concrete towers with a hub height of 112 metres and 4 steel towers with a hub height of 85 metres.
♻️ Sustainable dismantling:
✅ The steel towers are transported to Moldova and rebuilt there - a strong example of international reuse instead of scrapping.
✅ The concrete towers are recycled on site: the recovered material flows directly into new paths and crane pads. Sustainability in its purest form!
🌲 Special feature of the site:
The project area is predominantly in the forest - this requires precision, consideration and perfect coordination.
Our team works hand in hand with local authorities and specialist planners to optimally combine dismantling, logistics and nature conservation.
