What is Clearance?
Clearance is the minimum amount of free space below the user to ensure they do not strike an obstacle during a fall. The calculation takes into account the fall height, the tearing length of the energy absorber, and a safety margin of 1 meter.
Factors for Calculation
The required clearance changes with every work situation. The most important criteria are:
- Position of the user: Where is the anchor point located in relation to the harness?
- Length of the system: The combination of connectors, energy absorber, and lanyard.
- Weight: The total weight of the employee including equipment and tools.
Optimizing Safety
