Hansataucher GmbH has been providing a comprehensive range of professional diving services for the maritime industry, offshore wind sector, and infrastructure projects for decades. Our operations meet the highest standards of safety and quality—onshore, in port, and offshore.
Ship Inspection, Maintenance & Repair
Hansataucher is certified by major classification societies including Lloyd’s Register, ABS, Bureau Veritas, DNV GL, ClassNK, and RINA. For over 20 years, we have performed ship maintenance, class renewals, and repairs in the Port of Hamburg, throughout northern Germany, and internationally. Our inspection divers are certified by the DGZfP according to EN 473 and conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) using MPI, ACFM/Eddy Current, and UT (Ultrasonic Testing) methods. When class inspections reveal damage, our underwater welding team can quickly step in to carry out repairs—ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.
Offshore Operations
To actively serve the growing offshore wind market in the North and Baltic Seas, we established our sister company GSS Hansa Offshore GmbH. Closely integrated with Hansataucher, the company employs personnel with extensive offshore experience. GSS Hansa Offshore has built a strong portfolio of projects in UXO clearance, ROV operations, NDT inspections, cable burial, surveys, and salvage—serving major clients such as Vattenfall, WPD, and Prysmian.
Certified Underwater Welding
As one of the few certified underwater welding companies, Hansataucher delivers high-quality repairs and structural modifications beneath the surface. Our welders are trained and certified to AWS D3.6 and by Lloyd’s Register and DNV GL. With advanced techniques such as gouging, we provide precision results even with the most demanding materials—reliably and efficiently.
UXO Clearance
Our UXO (unexploded ordnance) division is equipped with state-of-the-art survey vessels, sonar, magnetometer, and DGPS technology. We perform expert clearance of explosive ordnance in water and shoreline areas. Each dive team includes personnel certified under § 20 of the German Explosives Act (SprengG). For deep-seated findings, we use specially developed non-magnetic casing systems. With a long-standing framework agreement with the Hamburg UXO Clearance Service and prequalification under § 6 VOB, Hansataucher is a trusted partner for public authorities and private clients throughout northern Germany and its coastal waters.
