Wind energy, as an additional form of renewable energy, plays a central role in our strategy. We aim to increase electricity generation from wind power tenfold in the coming years. To achieve our ambitious climate goals, we will continue to invest in wind turbines in the future.
Who we are. VERBUND at a glance.
Since 1947, when we were founded as Österreichische Elektrizitätswirtschafts-AG, VERBUND has been shaping the energy future. Even back then, we focused on hydropower and thus renewable energies. Today, more than 75 years later, VERBUND is one of the largest producers of electricity from hydro, wind, and solar power in Europe. Within VERBUND, VERBUND Green Power, based in Berlin, is dedicated to further advancing renewable energy generation from wind and solar power in Germany. Our primary goal is the expansion and increased utilization of photovoltaics and wind energy. VERBUND supplies green electricity to numerous industrial and commercial customers, as well as municipal utilities and resellers.
