We build and operate wind turbines

Our job: developing, building, and operating wind turbines! Because one thing is important to us: ensuring both security of supply and a sustainable energy future for our customers. For us, that means building our own capacity!

Onshore wind power refers to the generation of energy from wind on the mainland and is classified as a renewable energy source. Wind energy use on land is one of the most cost-effective forms of renewable energy and is becoming increasingly important for the expansion of renewable energies.

Wind availability and energy demand are highest in winter, making wind energy the most important pillar of a low-carbon electricity supply. It complements photovoltaics (PV) perfectly, which compensates for the weaker winds in the summer months. As a result, onshore wind energy was the main driver of renewable electricity production in 2023, alongside photovoltaics. With almost 30,000 wind turbines and an installed capacity of almost 60,000 megawatts, Germany is one of the pioneers of onshore wind power in Europe.
