The Baltic Hub: wind potential of the Baltic Sea

The Baltic Hub is Iberdrola Germany’s largest offshore initiative. With over 1.1 GW of capacity across three wind farms, it is a milestone for Iberdrola plan's to drive the decarbonization of German industry.

Iberdrola Deutschland GmbH

Since 2009, Iberdrola started its operation in the Baltic sea with the vision of a strategic energy cluster designed to deliver long-term value for Germany: The Baltic Hub. Located off the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the Hub includes:

➡️ Wikinger: 350 MW capacity

➡️ Baltic Eagle: 476 MW capacity

➡️ Windanker: 300 MW capacity

Together, these three projects will provide German industry with clean electricity, supporting the country’s progress toward achieving its net-zero goal. The Hub will generate the equivalent of delivering electricity to over 1 million people.

In addition, the Baltic Hub is also creating local jobs, strengthening supply chains, and supporting regional development. Watch the video and come visit us at Husum to get to know more!
