25 years of planGIS – A jubilee with the wind in our sails

This year, we had the pleasure of celebrating our 25th company anniversary—a milestone that fills us with great pride!
To mark the occasion, our team spent three unforgettable days in Rostock. A special highlight: a sailing trip on the Baltic Sea aboard real VO60 ocean racers. These impressive offshore yachts usually compete in the toughest races in the world—and we got to experience the feeling of speed, teamwork, and adrenaline up close.
A big thank-you to the Speedsailing team, who introduced us to the art of sailing with great patience and passion and guided us safely across the Baltic Sea. Not only did we get a taste of true regatta atmosphere, we also learned a great deal about teamwork, navigation, and the fascination of the sport of sailing.
Alongside exciting shared activities, the trip also offered plenty of space for exchange, new perspectives, and lots of laughter.

As specialists in environmental planning, emission control, and GIS services, we have accompanied—and helped shape—the development of the wind energy sector.
From noise and shadow flicker forecasts to species protection assessments, EIA reports, and comprehensive visualizations—in short, all emission-control and environmental planning studies needed to obtain permits—we ensure that wind energy projects are planned responsibly and gain public acceptance. Our geodata management supports clients in optimal site planning and development. This also includes identifying and evaluating potential areas for repowering and new wind farm development, ground-mounted photovoltaics, and battery storage.
