GWU-Umwelttechnik GmbH (GWU) supplies since 1986 sensors and systems for wind and wind profile measuring, as well as meteorology applications. With many years technical experience, our meteorologists, scientists, engineers and technicians develop customized measuring solutions, including sensors, system integration, remote monitoring and data storage and processing. GWU is certified to ISO 9001:2015 and aims to meet the increasing demands of measurement tasks in the field of wind energy by making practical use of the latest technologies, always keeping the matter and the customer in mind.
Measuring wind profiles using innovative LiDAR technology (Light Detection and Ranging) is gaining importance and acceptance, specially within the wind energy sector. Therefore GWU provides turn-key systems and solutions (LiDAR, GWU-Trailer und GWU-HPS), services, rental of measurement devices and systems and we do Europe-wide project management (overseas with international partners). The trailer body is large enough to host the LiDAR system, hybrid power supply and to carry the solar panels during the measurement in the desired position.
Nevertheless it is compact and light enough to be moved by standard cars (max. total weight 1300kg). All details of the system reflect decades of experience in meteorological and wind energy field measurements. Rugged construction with a hot-dipped chassis emphasize the ideas for quality. All critical system information is online available as well as the measurement data with the WindCube remote access option. The trailer has permission for 100 km/h maximum speed for Germany.
GWU is a sales, support, and service partner of LiDAR global market leader for the region D-A-CH. Since 2004 the development of a wide range of Doppler Wind LiDAR systems and offers, supplies and operates them commercially in an industrial production. In order to meet the maintenance and repair needs of the Wind LiDAR systems in a timely and fair manner, GWU-Umwelttechnik GmbH has established in 2015 a corresponding service and maintenance center in cooperation with LEOSPHERE. In the meantime, the well trained and experienced technical staff has grown to 6 employees, who in the daily work process meticulously ensure that the LiDAR systems and the related peripherie maintain their full functionality.
