Abstract: Sustainability is more than just a buzzword today – it is a decisive success factor for companies in almost all industries. In view of increasing demands from stakeholders and the risks and impacts of climate change, companies need skilled workers who can strategically and operationally advance sustainability.
This presentation will outline the skills and abilities that sustainability managers need to effectively manage complex sustainability issues and integrate them into business processes. This includes technical knowledge as well as methodological skills, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary manner.

We will also be presenting our Sustainability Academy—a practice-oriented training program that qualifies sustainability managers both on-site in Husum and online. Participants learn how to systematically anchor and shape sustainability in companies. We place great emphasis on practical relevance, so that participants can directly apply concrete tools and methods. In addition, we provide information about funding opportunities that facilitate access to our programs.
