Development and manufacture of a prototype for a wave power plant
A floating wave power plant was developed at Kiel University of Applied Sciences and manufactured as a prototype in cooperation with the maritime industry.
A floating wave power plant was developed at Kiel University of Applied Sciences and manufactured as a prototype in cooperation with the maritime industry. The prototype is to be tested under real environmental conditions on the high seas at the FINO 3 research platform in the North Sea for at least six months in order to achieve TRL 7. However, there is still no experience with the necessary work steps in the base port and at the site of operation, which is why the entrepreneurial risk is very high. Despite this, strict requirements from the BSH must be met in order to obtain approval for transport, installation, and test operation.
