Due to the ongoing digitalization and connection of wind turbines the industry is facing new challenges in the area of cyber security. VDMA Power Systems provides insight into the legal requirements of the EU's NIS 2 directives and the Cyber Resilience Act and their significance for the wind energy industry, particularly from the perspective of turbine manufacturers. We analyze the resulting obligations for securing IT and OT infrastructures as well as the requirements for cyber resilience. The aim is to provide a well-founded overview of the regulatory framework and to highlight the implications for the implementation of security measures.
