Shaping the future of offshore turbine maintenance with the ATOMS Platform
A game-changing offshore solution combining flexibility, efficiency, and low environmental impact — now in production and ready to redefine offshore wind maintenance.
Developed by SOLVE WIND, a joint venture between Liftra and Esteyco, the ATOMS Platform introduces a disruptive approach to major component exchange at sea. By reducing reliance on jack-up vessels, this barge-based solution optimizes offshore operations for both fixed-bottom and floating turbines.
Key advantages include:
- Battery driven lifting powered directly from the turbine
- Lower LCOE with a more economical alternative to jack-up vessels
- Environmentally friendly operation and reduced CO₂ footprint
- Flexibility for both fixed-bottom and floating turbines
- Reliable vessel access with an efficient low-CAPEX solution
- Jones Act compliance and no seabed or water depth restrictions
ATOMS is more than a technical innovation; it’s a new mindset for offshore wind: regional, flexible and sustainable. It supports offshore maintenance with technology that eliminates hub-height as a cost factor, enabling the deployment of taller, more cost-efficient turbines. And its evolution is already underway, with the next-generation ATOMS platform being designed for full integration with the LT1500 Liftra Installation Crane.
The first ATOMS unit is currently in production, with assembly taking place at a port in northwest Spain. A full-scale demonstration is planned for the second quarter of 2026, using the LT1200 Liftra Self-Hoisting Crane.
