With wind4factory into the future
At the Saxony site, the Schlegel wind turbine generates green electricity, which is supplied directly to CORTEC in Wald-Michelbach via wind4factory - another step towards a sustainable energy supply.
CORTEC's production relies on renewable energy with wind4factory
Since 2025, Cortec has been sourcing a large proportion of its electricity directly from the wind turbine in Zittau-Schlegel. This produces around 2,000 MWh of clean electricity every year and ensures a stable, sustainable energy supply.
The conclusion of the wind power contract in a 1:1 relationship with the Schlegel wind turbine, which is located in the district of Görlitz in Saxony, supplements the existing self-supply from solar energy and is a further component of the sustainable energy concept.
By purchasing electricity directly, CORTEC not only benefits from predictable electricity prices, but also supports the local energy transition and contributes to the continued economic operation of the plant.
With the decision to purchase wind power, CORTEC is relying on a sustainable energy source that not only supports the industrial company, but also the region in the long term.
With wind4factory, a further contribution has been made to the energy transition in industry - and at the same time a future-proof perspective has been created for operators of wind turbines.
