To launch this year’s HUSUM WindEnergy we would like to invite you to the first HUSUM WindEnergy Golf Trophy. Tee-off is at 09:30, right in front of the exhibition grounds.

The international wind industry will meet for the opening of HUSUM WindEnergy 2012 in the new NordseeCongressCentrum (NCC). At 09:30 on 18.9 um 9:30 the warm-up programme will kick off with coffee and croissants in the foyer accompanied by music from the pop band Nervling and with an appearance by the walking act Die Windwanderer. After a spectacular light show in the auditorium, the wind exhibition will then be ceremoniously opened at 10:00 by the German environment minister Peter Altmaier, Schleswig-Holstein’s minister-president Torsten Albig,   and international wind energy expert Paul Gipe.

The established programme concept of the HUSUM WindEnergy congress, with its daily international events, scientific conferences, and hourly changing “company innovations” programme continued in these modern, comfortable function rooms with great success. Congress visitors can find out about the latest wind energy topics and trends, which will be presented and discussed at over 75 specialised programmes by around 200 speakers from all over the world. This is where the world’s leading enterprises will be showcasing their latest developments.

The traditional reception given by the town, organised in association with Messe Husum, marks the start of the evening events in fair week. The reception on 18 September 2012 was where the wind industry traditionally meets representatives from the fields of politics, business and society for an informal get-together in Husum’s town hall on the harbour.

The Windalliance Technology Award, an international technology prize presented jointly by Messe Hannover and Messe Husum will be awarded for the first time at HUSUM WindEnergy 2012. With the Windalliance Technology Award, the trade fair organisers honour the most excellent innovations in the products and services sector. The ceremony starts at 11:00 in the Auditorium and ends at 12:00.

The Ormonde offshore wind farm in the UK will be officially inaugurated on 19 September.
Vattenfall has installed and operates a total of 30 REpower five-megawatt wind turbines, which will generate green electricity for around 100,000 households.

Schleswig-Holstein’s Windcommunity Meeting has been a favourite with the north German wind industry for years! This break in the official proceedings is a not-to-be-missed opportunity for networking with the senior players in the wind sector. In addition to a panel discussion about the role of wind power in combatting climate change there will also be a highly varied programme of entertainment. The event language is English, and admission is free. The meeting starts at 16:00 and ends at 18:00.

Are you looking for an opportunity to establish contacts with Brazilian industry associations and political? HUSUM WindEnergy 2012 offers the ideal platform to do so! On Thursday 20.09.2012 there will be a contact exchange for attendee firms and Brazilian industry representatives from 10:00 to 17:00 in Room 11, directly above the Terrace Restaurant.

Starting at 18:00 you can meet your customers and establish new contacts while enjoying delicious cocktails, beer and live music in the NordseeCongressCentrum. Admission is free.

"One party, several venues" is the motto of this year’s Windwander Festival. At least 8 bands performed at as many different venues around Husum harbour on Friday 21 September 2012 at 21:00 – an invitation for visitors, exhibitors and friends of HUSUM WindEnergy and all townspeople to party together.

There is already an enormous demand for qualified staff, and in the light of the advance of environmentally friendly technology this number is be expected to rise significantly.
