The windy west coast of Schleswig-Holstein provides an ideal environment for harvesting the energy in the wind. And this is why Germany's pioneer region for wind power also has the greatest wind turbine density in the country. 1,393 wind turbines, with a total output of von 1,170,394 kW (status 01/2012), are located in the counties of North Frisia and Dithmarschen alone, i.e within a 60 km radius of Husum. Could there possibly be a better location for an international wind energy expo?
